BioEden has developed a global management and scientific team, with strong credentials in commercial operations and scientific research.

The Board of Directors ensure good governance while mapping out the strategic objectives of the Group. The Group Chief Executive, the Executive Team and Country Managers in the various territories in which BioEden operate around the world deliver this strategy through management of day-to-day operations. The team, combined with the structure of the company, ensure adherence to high quality, world class standards in commercial operations and scientific development with the aim of providing the very best possible service to the many thousands of customers who choose BioEden to safely store their children’s precious teeth cells.

John McDonnell
Chief Executive Officer

John founded Harvard Engineering and was CEO for over 20 years. He sold the business to Private Equity in 2013. John is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Connect Yorkshire, a not-for-profit business mentoring organisation, where he chairs the Gazelle Leaders Forum, helping Yorkshire businesses to grow.

Mike Byrom

Mike Byrom
Chief Scientific Officer

Mike is the founding scientist of BioEden and has worked extensively in the field of stem cells for over 15 years as a researcher at Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Richard Dean

Richard Dean

Richard came to BioEden in 2017. With over 20 years in finance, he comes with a wealth of experience after previously being involved in consultancy in a number of companies.

Scientific Advisors

Professor John A. Hunt
(D.Sc. Ph.D.)

Head of the UK Centre for Tissue Engineering and the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease. He has over 21 years’ experience and over 120 peer reviewed scientific publications. He is a committee member on the board of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Analytical Biosciences Special Interest Group.

Dr. Marc Saadia

Dr Saadia is a Paediatric Dentist and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Paediatric Dentistry. Dr Saadia lectures internationally, has received many awards and is co-author of two books on Dentofacial Orthopaedics.

Dr Alan Boyd

Dr Boyd was appointed Honorary Professor in the College of Medical and Dental Sciences in the University of Birmingham Medical School. Dr Boyd has held many senior positions in major pharmaceutical companies. He is Fellow of the Faculty of pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians.
