The Joslin Diabetes Centre announces a breakthrough using stem cells to treat complications of the disease

Scientists at the Joslin Diabetes Centre have made a discovery relating to Type I Diabetes, announcing that it could predict or even prevent diabetes complications.

Type I diabetes can be controlled with insulin injections, but it cannot always prevent further complications affecting the kidneys, nerves, heart and eyesight.
